Hello Friends,
I currently reside in Nebraska. I'm in pending I-485, and its I-797C�s Received Date was in Aug, 20007, Receipt Number: LIN-xx-xxx-xxxxx. My EAD expires on this December 2010, and my AP has expired on December 2008. I re-entered US on Feb, 2010 using H1B Visa and its HIB has expired on May 2010. I�d like renew my EAD and AP. I�ve got all paper ready to file, but I�m confused about Where Service Center/Office I should file to and pay the fees to. I�d appreciate your help.

i've been in the US on a f-1 visa since 2006. i am getting my masters at the moment. i am planning on getting married to my girlfriend who is a US citizen. i have been with her for the past 2 years and am dearly in love with her. we plan on getting married and i was wondering if i get married to her, can i apply for a green card right away or do i have to wait for a while before i can apply for a green card. she is also a student getting her bachelors.
my second question is that if i can apply for a green card then could i take a semester off and return to studying next semester or would that be a problem since i am on an F-1 visa.
i would appreciate it if i could get an answer soon so that i could take the semester off.

My I-485 was filed this July. My wife and I got FP notices for Nov 20. But my wife is currently in India and I will be in India too on Nov 20. So we will have to reschedule at least for my wife.
My question is, has anyone who filed their I-485 after July 2 rescheduled their FP appt and got a new appt date? I'm in the San Jose area.

Below is my current GC & H1-B status
1. Have an approved I-140 with my current employer. Waiting to file I-485.
2. Pending H1-B extension petition based on approved I-140
I'm looking to move from engineering to marketing with the same employer. I know I have to refile labor and I-140 and claim the PD based on the already approved I-140. Can I move to marketing from engineering? The job responsibilities are totally different and my current H1-B extension petition is for engineering position only. I need to file for a H1-B amendment based on the new marketing position.
Will i be able to move smoothly within my current company. If not what will be some roadblocks? Any advice or insights is highly appreciated

In 2004, my H1B extension was denied and later on approved in Nunc Pro Tunc. The nunc pro tunc process took a total of 64 days and when approved my I-94 was NOT back dated. Hence, I do not have I-94 for 64 days. Later on in July 2007, I filed for my I485.
Since my approval, I have not traveled outside the country and I am currently on EAD based on my pending 485.
The question I have, it's bothering me a lot, Will the gap in I94 for 64 days cause any problems in my I485 approval?
Please advise.

I was selected in H1b lottery last year however my petition was sent back to DSH for revocation.
I emailed US embassy in Pakistan a couple of time however did not receive any response from them as yet on my case status. So my petition has been returned to DSH but H1b visa has not been rejected yet.
Now another company is offering me a job. My question is that can I use my previous petition and my new employer can apply for H1b without applying for the H1B lottery again. This will be switching employer before H1b Visa approval OR is it that I will have to wait until some decision is taken on my returned petition to DSH?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!

Hi Guys
Let me make this suggestion, instead of trying to organize statewide, organize aroound each of the senators offices in a state. In this way you can get more people to join as they ahve to travel only short distances to meet, and you can also make more of an impact by giving the senator input from multiple local offices instead of one central office.
I just met and spoke to Sen Schumers office locally and explained our problems, and showed our presentation, they said they will convey it to the senator. I urge you to do the same
Also start the process if meeting your hosue reps as well, as this would be crucial too, to get this thru

Applying for SSN doesn't invalidates your H1..
I received my EAD recently and shortly applied and got SSN. Its a card which allows you to work. Doesnt cancel nothing :D
